Rosso Travertine Quarry
Before anything else, let’s talk about the origin of this stone. The Rosso Travertine quarry is located near Azarshahr City in East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. This area is also home to the Dark Red Travertine quarry. The region is well known for its wide variety of colorful travertine stones and is considered one of Iran’s most important travertine mining zones.
Rosso Travertine Block
Rosso Travertine block is the raw form of this material, extracted directly from the stone quarry. MGT Stone Company is proud to supply Rosso Travertine blocks in various sizes to meet the needs of stone manufacturers — including large blocks for slab production and medium-sized blocks for tile manufacturing. All blocks are carefully selected to ensure high quality and are export-ready for international markets.
Travertino Rosso Persiano
With its red earth–like color, Travertino Rosso Persiano offers a striking and distinctive option for decorative applications. Below are the different types of finished products available in Persian Rosso Travertine:
Rosso Travertine Slab
Rosso Travertine slabs are produced by MGT Stone Co. These slabs are cross-cut and feature a uniform surface without linear veining. They are well suited for project owners and interior designers who want to introduce the energy of red tones into their projects without using vein-cut designs, avoiding the layout and design limitations typically associated with vein-cut travertine.
Rosso Travertine Tile
Rosso Travertine tiles are supplied in various sizes. Standard sizes include 60×40 cm, 60×60 cm, and free-length tiles with a width of 40 cm. Custom sizes can also be produced by MGT Stone Co. according to customer requirements.
Red Travertine Mosaic
Red Travertine mosaic is normally produced from cross-cut Rosso Travertine. This product is commonly used in interior design for areas such as kitchen backsplashes and modern bathrooms. It is highly attractive and well suited for creating a wide variety of decorative patterns with stone mosaic.
Rustic Red Travertine
Rustic red travertine is produced when Rosso Travertine is processed in vintage-style finishes. There are several ways to achieve a rustic appearance, including honed and leathered finishes. Tumbled Red Travertine is another popular rustic style. It is worth noting that rustic red travertine is normally produced from cross-cut Rosso Travertine.
Red Cross-Cut Travertine
Since vein-cut red travertine has some production limitations that can lead to higher waste—especially in large tile sizes—red cross-cut travertine is often more cost-effective compared to Dark Red Travertine in vein-cut form.
Pink Travertine
Rosso Travertine can have different color variations, ranging from very light red tones close to pink to very dark red shades close to brown. Compared to Turkish Rosso Travertine, Persian Rosso Travertine has a bolder and deeper color. Pink Travertine is mainly considered a lighter color variant of Turkish Rosso Travertine.
