Description

Bianco Limestone is one of the most distinctive white stones in the MGT Stone Co. collection — a very white background with an exceptionally uniform, clean surface and no veining, banding or spotting. Across a large elevation or a long floor run it reads as one continuous plane, which is exactly what a white specification is usually chosen to achieve.

It is quarried in Kurdistan Province, Iran, from a quarry owned and operated by MGT Stone Co. That ownership gives direct control of block selection, processing and supply. Bianco Limestone is produced as blocks, slabs, standard tiles and free-length tiles, in polished, honed/matt and leathered finishes, filled or unfilled.

Appearance and Surface Character

The defining quality of Bianco Limestone is its consistency. The background is a clean, bright-toned white, and the surface carries no veins, no banding and no spotting — there is no directional pattern to set out around and no movement to reconcile between adjacent pieces. On large-format cladding and continuous flooring this is the property that separates a premium white stone from an ordinary one.

Natural open pores. The stone carries natural open pores in its texture. These are part of the natural character of the material and are a normal feature of a quarried white stone of this type. They can be left open, or filled during processing, depending on the surface you want — see Filled or Unfilled below.

Selection. Bianco Limestone is a natural material, so we recommend approving a current sample against your reference before production where the white has to match a fixed specification. Our selection team will prepare samples from the material being quoted.

The MGT-Owned Quarry in Kurdistan, Iran

Bianco Limestone comes from a quarry in Kurdistan Province, in the western mountains of Iran. MGT Stone Co. owns that quarry and has been working it for over two decades.

Owning the source is a commercial advantage, and it shows up in three places that matter to a buyer:

  • Direct source control. Block selection is made by MGT at the quarry face, not negotiated through a trader, so the material entering production is chosen against the order in front of it.
  • Stable access to blocks. Extraction is scheduled by MGT, which means block availability is not dependent on a third party’s quota or priorities.
  • Supply consistency. One quarry, one operator and one processing chain keep appearance comparable from one production run to the next, which is what repeat and phased projects depend on.

Processing is handled at MGT’s own stone factory, so blocks, slabs and tiles are produced inside a single chain from quarry face to export packing.

Available Formats

Bianco Limestone is supplied in four commercial formats, all produced from the same quarry material.

Bianco Limestone Blocks

Raw quarry blocks for buyers who cut and finish in their own factory. Block supply suits importers and processors who want to control yield, thickness and finish in-house and to build their own selection from the material.

Bianco Limestone Slabs

Cut-to-size slabs at standard thicknesses of 2 cm and 3 cm, produced polished, honed/matt or leathered, filled or unfilled. Slabs suit cladding, cut-to-size fabrication and countertop work, where the fabricator sets out from the full slab face.

Bianco Limestone Standard Tiles

Standard tile dimensions are 60 × 30 × 2 cm, 60 × 40 × 2 cm and 60 × 60 × 2 cm, with other sizes produced to order. Standard tiles are the usual choice for interior floors, wall cladding and repeatable elevations where a fixed module simplifies setting out and installation.

Bianco Limestone Free-Length Tiles

Free length means longitudinal tiles — tiles supplied at a fixed width and running length rather than as a fixed rectangle. Typical widths are approximately 40 to 60 cm. Free length is often the more economical route on long runs of cladding or flooring, because it reduces offcuts and lets the installer cut to the setting-out on site.

Surface Finishes

Three finishes are produced:

  • Polished — Bianco Limestone takes a good polish. The polished finish performs well on this stone and brings out the depth and clarity of the white background. Specify polished where the design calls for reflectivity.
  • Honed / Matt — a flat, non-reflective surface, and the most common choice for floors and for large interior wall areas.
  • Leathered — a lightly textured, low-sheen surface that keeps the tone of a honed finish while adding grip and masking marking.

Tell our team which finish the specification calls for at enquiry stage and it will be confirmed against the material being quoted.

Filled or Unfilled

Because the stone carries natural open pores, Bianco Limestone can be supplied two ways, and the choice is the customer’s:

  • Unfilled — the natural pores are left open. The surface keeps the natural character of the stone and reads as a genuine natural material at close range.
  • Filled — the pores are filled during processing, giving a closed, continuous surface. This is the usual choice where a smooth, easily maintained plane is wanted.

Filling is a processing option, not a quality grade — both are standard production for this stone. State your preference with the enquiry, because it affects the finished surface and the production lead time.

Where Bianco Limestone Works Best

Facade cladding is the most common application. A uniform white surface carries a large elevation without introducing a pattern, and MGT has supplied this stone for facade work in Iran. Beyond facades, it is specified for:

  • interior wall cladding and feature walls
  • lobby, corridor and reception flooring
  • stair walls and stair cladding
  • cut-to-size work where a uniform white background is required across many pieces

Bianco Limestone works well against darker natural stone; a frequent combination is Bianco Limestone with Absolute Black Marble for contrast detailing and insets.

For wet areas, external paving and high-traffic floors, discuss the filled or unfilled decision, the finish and any protective treatment with our export team before the specification is fixed.

Showroom Availability and Export Supply

Blocks, slabs, standard tiles and free-length tiles are always available in MGT showrooms. All four formats are held as standing stock, so buyers and buyers’ agents can see and select the actual material in person rather than order from a photograph.

  • Minimum order quantity — one 20 ft container, or 400 m² of 2 cm slabs or tiles.
  • Delivery terms — EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.
  • Export packing — wooden A-frames and crates prepared for container loading and sea freight.
  • Documentation — export paperwork prepared per shipment; tell us what your port of entry requires.

MGT Stone Co. supplies international buyers, distributors and project contractors across its export markets. Pricing, payment terms and pre-invoice documents are handled by the export team directly.

Bianco Limestone vs. Gohare Limestone

These two stones are often considered together, and the choice between them is usually straightforward:

  • Color. Bianco Limestone is a very white stone. Gohare Limestone is a plain light beige.
  • Texture. Bianco Limestone carries natural open pores and can be supplied filled or unfilled.
  • Finish. Both stones can be supplied polished, so the finish is not the deciding factor between them.

In practice the decision is made on color first, then on surface texture, then on the format and finish the project actually needs.

What to Check Before You Order

  • Color reference. Approve a current sample if the white has to match a fixed specification.
  • Filled or unfilled. Decide before production; it changes the finished surface and the lead time.
  • Finish. Polished, honed/matt or leathered — confirm against the specification.
  • Format. Block, slab, standard tile or free length — this drives both cost and lead time.
  • Quantity and destination port. These set the delivery term and the packing plan.
